Club Academy Scotland

Club Academy Scotland is the SFA’s structure that defines, operates and partially funds the Academy system in Scotland. It governs the development of players within this environment from the age of 11 to 20.

Currently academies receive a level of funding from CAS payable based on two elements; a “criteria” based element on physical & HR resources committed by each Academy which places them on a scale, rated from Platinum to Bronze and a measurable performance outcomes (MPO) element where a calculation is made on appearances by players produced by an Academy at the level of domestic, UK and/or European leagues as well as international appearances.

Currently there are 2 Platinum, 1 Gold, 11 Silver and 13 Bronze.

The Hibernian Academy is currently a Silver Academy.

Project Brave

Hibernian were delighted to be awarded Elite status in November 2017 as part of the SFA’s Project Brave.

The aim of the SFA’s project is to improve the overall standard of Scottish footballers, with a view to enhancing the domestic game as well as helping to produce talent for the Scotland national team.

Hibernian have been named as one of eight Elite Academies following a stringent application process.
